Chiropodists are regulated health professionals who assess, diagnose, and treat a broad range of medical conditions of the foot. Chiropodists practice in a variety of health care settings that include private offices, hospitals, nursing homes, multi-healthcare discipline clinics and private home visits.

Only individuals who have successfully passed the College of Chiropodists of Ontario registration examination, registered with the College as a Registrant and maintain membership as a Registrant in good standing, can:
Use the protected title, Chiropodist, depending on the Registrant’s Certificate of Registration; and
Perform the following authorized acts, subject to the terms, conditions and limitations imposed on his or her Certificate of Registration:

CHIROPODISTS
Cutting into subcutaneous tissues of the foot.
Administering, by injection into feet, a substance designated in the regulations.
Prescribing drugs designated in the regulations.
Administering, by inhalation, a substance designated in the regulations.

With over 15 years of experience in the foot and orthotics industry, Jake has a deep understanding of the foot and ankle, with special interest in treating heel pain and ingrown nails. His personalized treatment plans have earned him the trust and respect of his patients.

Jake grew up in a small town in Northwestern Ontario where he developed a love for sports and recreation. He was a “jack of all sports” and he understands how a foot or ankle injury could keep you away from the things you love.

Jake completed an Honors Bachelor of Kinesiology degree at Lakehead University, then went on to complete a Diploma in Pedorthics (distinction) at Western University, then completed his studies in Chiropody at the Michener Institute with distinction.

Outside of work, Jake enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He also loves recreational hockey and golf.
